Bikers'Festival Steve Parrish is coming to the Bikers’Festival 2026!

DG Sport’s Bikers’Festival 2026 promises to be an event not to be missed. On Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16, the festival will welcome several legendary names from the world of motorcycle racing. One of the biggest attractions is undoubtedly British fan favourite Steve Parrish, a colourful character renowned for his outspoken personality and infectious sense of humour.

Motorcycling has always been at the heart of Steve Parrish’s life. At the age of 22, in 1976, the Cambridge-born rider turned professional. He immediately claimed the ACU Solo title in the British Motor Cycle Championship and, in the same year, became the teammate of none other than Barry Sheene at Suzuki in the 500cc World Championship. He finished the season in an impressive fifth place before returning to Britain to win the national 500cc title in 1978. More championships followed over the years, before he retired from motorcycle racing in 1986.

His motorsport career, however, was far from over. In 1987, Parrish switched to the British Truck Racing Championship, where he quickly proved to be just as competitive behind the wheel of a racing truck. Driving the iconic BP-liveried Mercedes, he collected numerous British and European titles. Widely regarded as the most successful truck racer in history, he retired from competition in 2002. Along the way, he also returned to two wheels as team manager of the official Yamaha UK team, helping the squad secure further national championships.

Parrish also built an impressive media career. Like many former champions, he exchanged racing for broadcasting, first working for BBC Radio before moving to Sky Television and later returning to the BBC as a MotoGP commentator. Alongside Charlie Cox, he became one of the best-known voices of Grand Prix racing. He also lent his expertise to the Red Bull Air Race Series and the legendary Isle of Man TT.

As if that wasn't enough, Steve Parrish also holds a Guinness World Record. Behind the wheel of a Caterham, he set the record for the fastest speed ever achieved in reverse: an astonishing 136.8 km/h (85 mph).

His remarkable career also inspired the popular autobiography Parrish Times: My Life as a Racer, in which he shares countless hilarious stories, practical jokes and unforgettable moments from his years in motorsport.

Throughout the weekend of August 15–16, visitors will not only see him on track during the riding sessions, but also have the opportunity to meet him during autograph sessions and interviews.
